Frequently Asked Questions
Answers grouped by topic — jump to the vehicle and availability, ZBE and permits, logistics, or production specifics section depending on what you need.
Vehicle and availability
- What exactly is this car?
- A 1981 BMW E21 320/6 Baur Convertible in Stratosblau Metallic (colour code 150). The Baur conversion features a roll-bar Targa with a rear soft-top. A rare European heritage configuration, restored and maintained to production-ready condition.
- How far in advance should I book?
- We recommend 4–6 weeks' notice for full productions and campaign shoots. Emergency and short-notice bookings are possible depending on availability — WhatsApp us.
- Can the car be driven with talent inside for rolling shots?
- Yes. Interior shots, doors-open shots, and driving shots with talent are standard. A driver option is available if your production prefers.
- Is the car available outside the province of Barcelona?
- Our default service area is the province of Barcelona. Shoots further afield (Girona, Costa Brava, Tarragona, southern France) are possible via flatbed transport — please request a quote with your location and timing.
Legal, ZBE and permits
- Is the car allowed inside Barcelona's ZBE Low Emission Zone?
- Yes. Currently authorised to operate within Barcelona's ZBE Low Emission Zone for professional productions. Full historic-vehicle classification is in progress with the Dirección General de Tráfico.
- Is insurance included? What do I need to add?
- Basic comprehensive insurance is included in the day rate. Productions running stunts, process-trailer work, or unusual exposure should add a production rider for the shoot day — we can provide vehicle documentation for your insurance broker.
- Do you handle filming permits (Ajuntament, Film Commission, heritage sites)?
- No. Filming permits are 100 % the client's responsibility. We provide the vehicle only, with ZBE-compliant status for production access. For reference: Ajuntament de Barcelona rodaje permits typically need 15 working days' notice, and heritage sites (Montserrat, Park Güell) often need 6–8 weeks. Coordinate via the Barcelona-Catalunya Film Commission.
Logistics
- How does delivery work?
- Delivery and return within 30 km of Barcelona are included in the day rate. Beyond 30 km: €0.50/km + VAT. Pickup and return times are flexible within mutually agreed operating hours.
- Who refuels and cleans the car?
- The production returns the car fuelled to the level it was delivered at. Cleaning under normal shoot conditions is included. Deep-clean (e.g., mud, food, heavy styling fallout) is billed at cost.
- What happens if the shoot is cancelled or rescheduled?
- Full refund for cancellations received 48 hours or more before the shoot date. Later cancellations are pro-rated depending on notice period. Rescheduling within mutually agreed availability is free of charge.
Production specifics
- Do you provide a driver?
- Driver option is available on request (quote provided). For most shoots, productions use their own licensed driver with a photo of the driver's licence submitted in advance.
- Can we do interior shots with doors open or top down?
- Yes. The Baur convertible is designed for exactly this kind of shot — full access for talent and camera. The Targa roof panel and rear soft-top can both be fully stowed for open-air shots.
- Do you sign NDAs?
- Yes. NDAs are standard practice for brand work, unreleased campaigns, and film projects. Send the document with your booking enquiry.
